Happy Memory CHALLENGE! Challenge 22: Cars

Hear no animal curator, speak no educator, see no designer. And examples from Habitat Africa!

Opening day for Habitat Africa!

Pride in what we'd done. Satisfaction that it was important, that it supported conservation education, and that it would be enjoyed by thousands of people.

The warmth of companionship with partners in the endeavor.

I've been blessed to have had some highly rewarding professional experiences, often working with teams
within the department I managed and/or with various colleagues and clients...

...and often with the gratification of getting to design things myself that I find satisfying.

  Student work

Teaching is a special kind of work. If a student messes up you feel bad but, as long as you did what you could to help, it doesn't affect you like a failing employee does. And it's immensely gratifying when a student succeeds, especially if the student has been struggling.

One day this summer I ran into a young man on the street who stopped me to say he had been in my Introduction to Graphic Design class and that he was now a senior design major and loving it. It felt like I had helped set him on his path for a good life. What could be more rewarding?

I've kept a fair number of student assignments.
