When I taught at SAIC, back before design was done on computers, setting up art like this was a complicated process. Now it's harder to learn, but easier to do.

I currently teach Introduction to Design Applications (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign) at Dominican University.

Students who learn on computer have incredible technical skills, but some of them are seduced into ignoring the real world as they design. I try to stretch student's minds past the glowing screen.

While I studied for my MFA the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and for the year after, I taught beginning and advanced design students, advised students in Co-op and an annual lecture series and publication, and designed printed materials for the school.
